While this is pretty funny it also raises the valid point that if you do not control your own URL shortening domain – this could happen to you too.

  1. I don’t understand why they would have pointed to a site other than their own domain in the first place. Even if everything would have gone right, they added complexity for zero gain by using a domain shortening service.
